Projects Abroad PRO offers voluntary work abroad for trained professionals in twenty two destinations in the developing world.  You can volunteer in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe or Latin America. We work in specialist areas such as education, medical work, business development and the environment.  We also offer projects in engineering, human rights, culture and media, and social work.

We work with local partners in disadvantaged communities.  Our aim is to listen to their needs and find volunteers who can help them.  Our volunteers also get the chance to learn from these partners and develop their own skills.  Examples of these partners include schools, hospitals, NGOs and small businesses. 

Projects last from 2 weeks to several months. 

Projects are open to graduates, professionals and retirees.

Projects Abroad PRO requirements for voluntary work abroad

Projects Abroad PRO are looking for confident, friendly and well-organised people who have an open-minded approach to international volunteer work. Each project has specific requirements regarding qualifications.  However, any related experience you may have will also be taken into consideration when you apply. Generally speaking, we are looking for the following individuals:

Volunteer veterinarian

• Professionals on a career break with a diploma in the relevant area
• Retired seniors
• University Graduates
• Individuals with at least two years’ experience in the relevant area but who hold no degree or diploma.
• Individuals who hold non-professional qualifications in the relevant area. Examples of acceptable qualifications can be seen below:
  • UEFA coaching badge
• Examples of qualifications that we will not accept:
  • Duke of Edinburgh Award

Some destinations and projects require a good level of spoken French or Spanish.  This is because communication is a key aspect of building a strong relationship with your project partner.  If you are in doubt about any of the requirements, feel free to get in touch with us using the contact details below.
