Voluntary culture & media jobs with Projects Abroad Pro

Television Journalism
We are looking for recent graduates, retired seniors or professionals on a career break to take part in voluntary culture & media jobs with Projects Abroad Pro. Ideally, anyone interested in volunteer culture & media work abroad would also possess at least two years’ professional experience of the relevant industry.
Projects Abroad Pro offer placements with organisations and institutions throughout the developing world encompassing areas such as journalism, broadcasting and archaeology. The countries in which we work are looking to grow their economies and develop fruitful links with the rest of the world. This process of development and modernisation could not take place without input from the media industries which are gradually increasing in size and taking a leading role in promoting and documenting the present and future changes. At the same time, developing countries are fiercely proud of their culture and history and are determined to hold on to important memories from the past in the face of modern expansion. The nature of both this fascinating process and the countries involved means that some areas lack the expertise required to ensure quality work in line with modern standards. Volunteers with a skill or qualification can play an important role by offering their knowledge and advice on both sides of the equation.
Volunteer culture & media abroad

Culture & Media Jobs
We see our projects as being a two-way process where you will gain just as much from the experience of volunteer culture & media abroad as the people you are helping. It is a fact that as an experienced, qualified professional you will meet less experienced individuals who need you help and guidance to improve their standards. This process in itself can be both challenging and incredibly rewarding – it is the best way of ensuring that the work you do will be continued in the long-term. On the other hand, you are sure to meet experienced professionals in your industry who share your attitude, commitment and knowledge and are keen to offer advice for coping with the frustrations of the developing world. These people will want to discuss new ideas and share their expertise as well as looking for every opportunity to work with you to develop plans for the future. It is this peer to peer contact that makes our projects so special and ensures that your experience will be both professionally and personally fulfilling.
"Historical research and preparations for the reconstruction of a Dacian falx needed to be done. But while waiting for the best time to go up in the Apuseni mountains, in order to find a traditional blacksmith who would be able to assist in the making of this ancient weapon, my day was usually filled with labeling, scanning and reconstructing ancient and medieval pottery"
