How can volunteer business teachers help in China?
You can use your knowledge and training to help local staff as a volunteer business teacher. You can work on tasks such as:
- Teaching business abroad at a Chinese University, including tasks such as:
- Reviewing the curriculum with other business teachers.
- Developing daily lesson plans.
- Teaching lessons to students, applying concepts to real business experiences.
- Setting projects and assignments.
- Developing and running examinations..
- Keeping records of students’ progress and performance.
This project is based in Shanghai. We work with a variety of placements, such as different universities and an international high school. This means that you have a choice and our staff will try to place you at the most suitable option.
Volunteers are expected to work from Monday to Friday for around 6-8 hours per day.
This project runs all year round so you can join at any time. During school holidays we arrange extra classes for you to work with. You decide how much time you can spare and we will help you get the most out of it.
What will I gain from this project?
This voluntary work abroad will allow you to gain experience from working alongside trained professionals. They will want to share ideas and come up with new ways of teaching. You will get the chance to work with extremely motivated students who want to learn from your experiences.
Through spending time with students and staff, you will learn about China’s culture and way of life. Staff and pupils will want to hear about your life back home and your family and friends. We call this ‘cultural exchange’ and we think it helps our volunteers gain a new perspective on life.
