Voluntary work abroad and volunteer engineering opportunities

Volunteer jobs as an Engineer Abroad

A professional engineer

You can take part in voluntary engineering opportunities with Projects Abroad PRO.  Our engineering and construction projects are all based in the developing world.  They are ideal for recent graduates, retired seniors or engineers and builders on a career break.

We work with a variety of partners, including church groups, construction projects and charitable foundations.  A good example of this is our volunteer engineering project in Jamaica.  You can see all of the available options on the left navigation menu.

On these projects you will get to work alongside qualified professionals who can teach local methods of construction.  You will also meet less experienced people who will appreciate your technical expertise.  This peer to peer contact is the best way of ensuring that your work has a long-term benefit.

Why we are looking for engineering volunteers

Voluntary Engineering Opportunities Overseas

Engineering work

Having basic needs such as drinking water and electricity should be available for everyone! Unfortunately, this is not the case in some developing countries, which often suffer from challenging weather conditions.  The aim of our volunteer projects is to provide decent living conditions in communities that most need help.

These engineering projects are looking to provide housing, water supplies and school buildings to poor communities.  Volunteer engineers with a skill or qualification can play an important role in this construction process.

We have highlighted one of our partner organisations to illustrate the type of work we do.

If you cannot find an engineering project here that fits your skills, please contact us.  We will try to arrange something that matches your area of expertise.  You can give us a call on:
