Voluntary work abroad for medical volunteers

Medical work in Africa
You can get involved in international medical work as a medical volunteer with Projects Abroad PRO. Our medical projects are all based in the developing world. They are designed for recent graduates, retired seniors or medical volunteers on a career break.
We work with a wide range of local partners, including public and private hospitals, clinics and care centres. You can work as a volunteer nurse in Jamaica. Another good example of this type of work is our project for physiotherapists in Nepal.

All medical volunteers are matched with a project supervisor for support and cultural understanding.
Why we are looking for medical volunteers
Our aim is to provide support for institutions that are providing healthcare to poor communities. We also aim to provide healthcare and provisions to people who may not ordinarily have access to it. Medical volunteers with a skill or qualification can play an important role in this development process.
Our application process requests your skills, expectations and the benefit you believe your skill can bring to a project. This allows us to make an accurate project allocation and for you to get the most out of the experience. If you are a highly experienced doctor then you may wish to spend time improving structure and management. On the other hand, a qualified but less experienced volunteer might prefer more hands on work with patients.
You can see all of the available medical projects here and some examples on the left navigation menu at the top of this page.
If you cannot find a medical project here that fits your skills, please contact us. We will try to arrange something that matches your area of expertise. you can give us a call on:
